An Informational Meeting about How You Can Work as a Substitute Teacher in Your School!!!
We have been talking to our para groups about a plan to use CERTAIN paraprofessionals (AND only if they are interested and willing) to work as substitutes IF they have a degree and IF it does not leave students and teachers without supports.
Of course, there will be extra pay available to those interested in this program in addition to training.
Also, we included a number of safeguards into the agreement, including checkpoints, to make sure that principals are following all of the agreed to guidelines and not strong-arming anyone into the program. Here is the communication that was sent to paraprofessionals from the BOE.
Paras, if you have a degree and fit into one of the follow classifications, come and hear about this exciting new program at the PFT on Monday, February 11 in the Fondy Room at 4:30 pm.
Refreshments available! Call 412-431-5900 to RSVP if you haven’t already!
