The Yale National Initiative is an exciting professional development opportunity open to PPS teachers! Attend a two-week summer seminar in your subject area at Yale University in New Haven, CT. While participating, you’ll create a research-based curriculum unit to teach in your own classroom. The unit is also published online and you receive a $1000 stipend for your work! The program is open to all teachers in core subject areas — English, Social Studies, Math, Science. All levels K-12 are welcome. Arts and world language teachers are eligible if they can demonstrate a connection between their curriculum and the seminar subject — we can work with you on this! The YNI program is really fun and a fantastic way to deepen your knowledge in your content area and enrich the PPS curriculum to make it even more engaging and rigorous for our kids. Most importantly, it’s like being back in school — you get to learn from Yale Professors and teachers from across the country! Get energized  and excited for the upcoming school year.

There is an information session at Allderdice High School on Wednesday, December 13 from 4:30pm to 6:00pm. There will be a short presentation and time to ask questions, check out past units and work on the application. Teachers who plan to attend the information session should RSVP here: https://tinyurl.com/PTFinterest. If you can’t make it, fill it out anyway and we’ll send you an application.
